Nancy, go for it. It seems to me that age doesn't matter--do you want to
give up hiking? I didn't think so. I had reconstuctive knee surgery (ACL
replacement--from a cadaver)several years ago, and I am really glad that I
did. By the way, the 9 month figure sounds about right--but it depends on
how hard you work at rehab. The more effort you put into it, the faster
your recovery. I was back to about 90% within 6 months, and felt "normal"
after one year. Hope this helps!
