[at-l] Rescued hikers "Donate" $4000

Just remembered a quick little blurb on the evening news the other day
mentioned that two of the hikers who have been rescued recently in NH and
were supposedly going to be charged for their rescues, made a $4000
"donation". Not sure if this was to help cover the costs of their own
rescues or for future rescues.

Also, I couldn't tell why they used that language. They should be paying a
$4000 fine, not making a donation. Just wondering what is really going
