[at-l] Theme to "Arthur"

One of my favorite tunes in the world. If my boys can make it to Trail Days, we'll sing on stage. Arthur is a PBS morality-play cartoon about a 8 or 9 year old boy and his very normal, yet very idealized family and friends. If someone wanted to know what my kids are like, they'd need only watch Arthur (Connor) and his best bud Buster Baxter (Cole). I swear they must tape my kids......it's that uncanny.

Anywho, the theme is performed by Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, so grove yourselves into a reggae beat (yeah-mon!) and sing this on the next hike you do, just before Dunderbeck.

Theme to Arthur:

Everyday(!)
When you're walking down the street —
All the people that you meet —
Have a particular point of view.

<chorus>
And I say "Hey!
What a wonderful kind of day —
When we can learn to work and play —
And get along with each other..."

You've got to listen to your heart,
...Listen to the beat —
...Listen to the rhythm —
The rhythm of the street.

You've got to open up your eyes —
...Open up your ears
Get together and make things better
By working together.

<bridge>
It's a simple message,
And it comes from the heart —
Oh, believe in yourself —
Well, that's the place to start!

And I say "Hey!
What a wonderful kind of day —
When we can learn to work and play —
And get along with each other."

Hey! What a wonderful kind of day!
Hey! What a wonderful kind of day!
Hey!....

I challenge you to sing this on a "bad" hiking day, and remain at all blue.
Can't be done.
Have just an outrageously fantastic day, you.
