[at-l] Normad Trip Report

Just got back from a two nighter in the new tent in very adverse weather --
rain and high winds Friday night, snow and high winds Saturday night. We
were working at the Chestnut Ridge area of SW VA (Section 38) -- exposed at
4,409 feet.

I was one of the few folk that stayed dry and warm. Most of the other
tenters got wet Friday and bugged out Saturday morning. Even some of the
folk in the shelter got wet and bugged out; and it is a four-sided stone w/
a medal roof structure.

A bit of flapping and related problems in the high winds, but the bottom
line was that I stay dry & warm.
