Re: [at-l] Limerick

I'm sitting in a C++ class
Wishing I could get off my a**
it's too warm outside
to sit here and hide
when I could be out on the grass.

Boredom is ruling my day
if only the weather was gray
but with the sun shining
I sit here just pining
I'ld rather find a trail and go stray

It's been just a year since I left
to Springer with my pack I did heft
with nary a debt
it's nice not to sweat
seven months of "real life" bereft.

It's real life I found on the trail
punctuated here and there by some mail
to keep me in touch
but never too much
from home an occasional tale.

The real stuff was rocks, roots, and trees
occasionally stirred by the breeze
the mountains and streams
in person (not dreams)
That got a bit hard on the knees.

It's the people that made the trail fun
I met them just when I'ld begun
we laughed and we cried
and it can't be denied
They're the ones I miss most when I'm done.

I should really be paying attention
this is it for now, must I mention
I'm trying to listen
C++ isn't division
but limericks reduce comprehension.

Gotta go...
