[at-l] AT closest to Boone NC

I got this email.  I haven't hiked any sections close to Boone.  Anyone have 
any advice for this gentleman? I'll forward it on . . . someone told me there 
are some nice views on the stretch by Watuaga Lake . . .?

Can you reccomend this section of the A.T. for someone of limited hiking 
experience?

I would like to hike a section that has a number of overlooks, outcroppings, 
and interesting geological features.  The last time I hiked in North Carolina 
I spent two days up and down hills but never left the forest.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
