If you don't mind being called a 'yellow blazer' by some folks you're free
to walk them. The fact remains that the roads are not trails and the Trail
would not be what it is without the efforts of the ATC. It would be an
idea, maybe some disconnected sections created independently by various
local/regional hiking clubs, but it would not be the AT.
