[at-l] snow shoes and snow storms

it was snowing most of today here... and not being able to go the catskills
like i wanted i was down in the dumps all day... about 10pm i decided i
woudl try out my snow shoes and so i went out side and wandered in apple
orchards aroudn my apartment. i was have a great time but concerned casue
my shoes were sinking what i thought was to the ground(3 inches)... i poked
my stick in to the groudn and foudn that i was in fact walking on SNOW!!!
(in solid form but who is gonna notice).. it was in most places 6-12 inches
deep and a few drifts were deeper. it was very cool i had a great time and
it was oddly bright out and the moon was no were to be seen....

i wore alot of my newer clothign i jsut got and i liked it all... i foudn i
actually sweat less in the my non-goretex jacket... boy do i hate goretex.

a word to the wise snow shoes are not easy to put on in the dark with
mittens on. bring a flash light.
