[at-l] 2000 hike prep

Well,  I've done it.

I'm all moved out of my house <<sniff>>.  I am now officially homeless
and unemployed soon to become hiker trash.  Getting everything packed
and into storage turned out to be a much bigger job than I had thought
it would be.  True to paula form, I did a lot of procrastinating so
there was TONS of work at the last minute.  I'm not sure just how I
managed to get soo little done in January... what on earth was I doing??

Thanks to Amy for TV sitting and for offering to make my balaclava for
me.  another thing I should have somehow finished in Jan but it just
didn't get done...

Bows & groveling to Gimme Chocolate for finding someone to take my
greyhound while I'm hiking.  Thats the hardest right now, its my last
week with my pooch and i feel guilty almost every time I look at her
unsuspecting sweet face.

Over the last months, I've been gathering stuff for maildrops and
dehydrating food.  I didn't think I had much until I gathered everything
that needed to go with me in one spot... absolutely no way it was all
going to fit in the car with me and the dog - she takes up the whole
backseat herself.  So, todays task is to find one of those uhaul-ish
things that you can pull behind your car to get me to my parents in AZ,
my mom is my maildrop support.  I may just have to leave the car here
and drive a small truck cuz I cant leave the maildrop or gear here! 
I've got to find time to drive back up to Annapolis and get my gear &
maildrop stuff out of the storage unit, plus buy more dog heartworm
pills cuz I managed to somehow let the new ones I bought get packed. 
There goes a quick $70.00 of unneeded spending.

I'm running about 3 days behind schedule so far.  Hope I can catch up in
AZ or I'm going to be starting perilously close to the dreaded March
15th hiker horde. :-)  looks like i'm not going to have many of those
nice lazy days by the pool at my parents... darn.. wanted a tan!

I should have my  maildrop schedule posted here soon.  I will be leaving
the list before I head to AZ cuz the computer is staying here in VA at
my friends house.  Thanks for all the support and keep that regional
info coming - i'm printing it all to go over it at moms and add notes
into the companion.

Gonna miss you guys...
