Carlo Col Shelter is actually, roughly, 0.5012 miles inside the Maine/NH 
border (give or take - but it *feels* more like a mile or two) making it the 
first AT shelter in Maine for northbounders. Additionally, you have to take 
a .298701 mile long side trail to get there (but it feels like .5 mile). 
That gives you a grand total of 0.799901 miles from the ME/NH line to the 
structure itself, even though you'd swear it was more like 1.799901 miles, 
give or take.
