RE: [at-l] Dehydrating Soups



Those soups have a fair amount of fat in them.  Seeing as we try to get all or most all of the fat out of meat, etc. before we dry it, my guess is that canned cream based soups aren't gonna keep well at all.  What I do is use a good dry soup (Knorr for example) and hit it with extra margarine or cheese on the trail.
By the by, to go along with my grits, I dried the last of the black eye peas from New Years Day over the weekend.  All set to go...
