Of that, $1340 was the Pre Ruck Raffel Sales and the rest was donated during
the Ruck.
That's 350% more than I had hoped for!  When we started, I felt that we could
raise a thousand dollars which is what it seemed it would cost for paint 
and supplies
to redo The Place.  When the checks started arriving, I started thinking 
maaaaybeee
we could hit 2000.  NOOOO WAAAY did I ever even dream we'd raise $3686.00!!

Can I say that again?  Three Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty Six Bucks!!!!!

I said it at the Ruck and I'm pleased to say it again.  This is simply a 
reflection of
the huge hearts of the AT online community.  I can't imagine a more generous
bunch of people.  You folks are great!!!!!!  We may even have to change the
meaning of Ruck, which up till now has meant an assemblage of disreputable
people.......ie hikers.  There is nothing disreputable about the way you 
folks kicked in
to honor Ed Garvey and benefit The Place

Not included in that total, was a donation of 25.00 which was made specifically
to be earmarked for next year's Ruck.  I'm not sure how to spend that, but
this year's Rucksters might suggest it go for soup bowls. <g> The ones at 
the hostel
were about the size of something you get filled with ketchup for your fries.
Seriously though, I'll save it to go for next years welcoming dinner.
