SNP and the Blue Ridge Parkway to its south will close for ice, snow or fog at the drop of a hat this time of year.  They open and close sections of them as the situation changes.  Because the Skyline Drive has so few entry points, conditions anywhere between toll booths closes the whole section.  BRP, being non-toll, has many entrances, so unless there is a major storm it can be a hodge-podge of open and closed pieces.
